Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

Inspired by the local “sea smoke” and maritime textures, the architecture reflects the Atlantic coast’s unique light and atmosphere. The structure invites the community to engage with the arts, featuring public spaces and flexible areas for art-related commercial activities, aiming to make the arts accessible and integral to daily life on the waterfront. At the heart of the design is the People’s Gallery, envisioned as a public gathering place for diverse voices, encouraging cultural dialogue and community engagement​.
