Glenbow Museum
DIALOG entrusted us with the creation of a series of images for the Glenbow Museum’s extensive renovation in Calgary.

This $120-million transformation aimed to revitalize the museum’s brutalist structure, replacing its concrete exterior with a lighter, perforated skin to enhance its connection with the surrounding urban landscape. The design includes the introduction of a central vertical gallery that floods the interior with natural light, providing a new focal point for the museum's spatial experience. The project reflects Glenbow’s shift towards becoming a more open and inclusive cultural institution. Our approach focused on faithfully representing the building’s new skin and the vertical gallery, which became a key element in the series of images we created. We also concentrated on capturing the urban life of Calgary through on-site photography, which was later combined with CGI to blend the new building into its context.
Alongside the commissioned visuals, we used this striking interior space to produce a series of four images, each transforming the vertical gallery to represent one of the elements: earth, water, air, and fire. These fantastical yet evocative images portrayed the building as a canvas for radical interventions.
