Nunavut Inuit
Heritage Centre
We created visuals for Teeple Architects’ Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre, showcasing its integration with the Arctic landscape through different seasons.

The Centre was designed in close consultation with the Inuit Design Advisory Council to honor Inuit history and culture. The building integrates with the natural rock formations of the site, minimizing its impact while connecting to the surrounding landscape. The design offers spaces for storytelling, community gatherings, and the preservation of cultural artifacts, all reflecting the seasonal rhythms of Nunavut.
Our main challenge was capturing the unique character of Iqaluit and its natural landscape. The building balances between blending with the site, like a black rock on the snow, and standing out in the open and remote environment. We aimed to show this contrast in our images by depicting different moods and times of the year, from summer days to winter sunsets and nights lit by the aurora. While respecting the architectural vision, we appreciated the creative freedom to experiment with the atmosphere of the images, which allowed us to explore new approaches, like including the northern lights.
